Classroom Jobs:
Supply Chief: Keeps supplies organized and replenishes them if necessary
Recycling Chief: Ensures bins are emptied regularly and reminds students to recycle
Bits and Pieces Chief: Checks the floor for dropped items (eg. pencils, bits of paper, math manipulatives, etc) and returns them to their proper places
Light Chief: In charge of turning the lights on and off, as directed by the teacher
Sweeper: Sweeps the floor
Spill Patrol: Calmly and efficiently cleans up small spills, such as water or paint
Board Cleaner: Cleans the boards at the end of the day
Animal Caretaker: Feeds classroom pet and maintains habitat, as necessary
Plant Caretaker: Waters and maintains plants, as necessary
Paper Handler: Passes out and collects papers as necessary
Alphabetizer: Puts stacks of paper or notebooks in alphabetical order
Messenger: Delivers notes to other teachers or to the office
Pencil Patrol Officer: Sharpens pencils at the end of the day, as necessary
Bulletin Board Helper: Assists Mrs. Brown with taking bulletin boards up or down, as necessary
Nurse Buddy: Accompanies classmates to the nurse if they are sick or hurt
Librarian: Keeps the classroom library neat and sorts books in need of repair
Ambassador: Greets the class each day with Mrs. Brown and helps visitors or new students learn classroom routines, keeps them company at lunch and recess
Class Journal Writer: With Mrs. Brown's approval, records each week's most memorable classroom events or activities for classroom blog
Current-Events Reporter: With Mrs. Brown's approval, chooses a news story to follow and share with the class throughout the week
Line Leader: Responsible for keeping a straight and quiet line in the hallway
Caboose: Responsible for keeping a straight and quiet line in the hallway
Computer Expert: Turns computers on and off, as needed, and assists students with computer tasks, as needed
RAKtivist: Performs Random Acts of Kindness throughout the week for the classroom and school
Fitness Instructor: Leads the class in Brain Breaks and physical activity, as needed
Song Leader: Leads the class daily in the Song of the Week
